From The Office Of State Senator James Sanders

State Senator James Sanders Jr. today condemned President Trump’s proposal to revamp or rescind the Community Reinvestment Act, something that would be detrimental to low-income and working class families.  The CRA is legislation, which states that banks should lend a certain amount of money to people who live in the neighborhoods where the banks are located.

Prior to this legislation, redlining was a common practice. Banks literally drew a red line around neighborhoods that they did not want to lend to – minority and so-called “high risk” neighborhoods – places where people had the most need.

“I would suggest that those in need of a loan get one right away, before the protective regulations of the CRA all come crashing down,” Sanders said. “Banking systems are necessary, but we must examine how much is profit and how much is greed.”

Seattle, WA -- The authors of I am So Sick of White Guys do not hate white guys. In fact, Jim Corbett and Tim Jones ARE white guys. But when news of the political satire coloring book hit the wires, the far right hit the ceiling. (www.sickofwhiteguys.com)

The book was intended as a 'stress-reliever' that would provide a few laughs for liberals and progressives and people from any political alignment who are concerned about the direction in which the current administration is moving the country (e.g., 90+% of appointees for posts and judgeships are white males).

Co-author, Jim Corbett said, "In a way, the coloring book expresses the exact same sentiments highlighted by Oprah Winfrey in her passionate Golden Globe speech – 'Their time is up!'  "Is it all white guys who are the problem?"

Rep. Meeks Condemns Trump’s
Offensive "Sh*thole" Comment

"I am bitterly ashamed by our President’s abhorrent, bigoted, heaving ignorant comments about Africa, El Salvador, and Haiti without any regard for history or fact..."

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Meeks released the following statement on President Trump’s question—“Why do we want all these people from sh*thole countries coming here?”—in a bipartisan immigration meeting:

“I am bitterly ashamed by our President’s heaving ignorant comments about Africa, El Salvador, and Haiti without any regard for history or fact. I am not alone; people around the world awoke to another episode of Donald Trump diminishing the United States’ world standing with repulsive and blatantly racist comments. In the days leading up to the eighth anniversary of the earthquake in Haiti, when the President should have offered inspiring messages of rebuilding and Haitian resilience, he showed his true bigotry once again.
