A STRUGGLE WITH DEPRESSION INSPIRES 20-YEAR OLD ENTREPRENEUR DEMI CARPENTER TO LAUNCH A SUCCESSFUL FASHION BRAND

Baltimore, MD -- DemiRe, a fashion collection created by Demi Carpenter of Baltimore, Maryland, is for women who are aware of the latest fashion trends and are unafraid to embrace their individuality.  Just like many entrepreneurs, Demi started her company in her basement.

She comments, "At the time it was a one-man show, but nothing that I couldn't handle, I've handled worse. I designed my very own collection while offering custom-made and styling services all at the age of 20. I also built an evolving fashion house dedicated to connecting with customers and incorporating my passion for fashion became the foundation of the company."

A minor setback
In 2016, Demi, just a sophomore in college, experienced a traumatic incident on campus and decided to leave school. Struggling to cope with what turned out to be a 3-year battle with depression, made her determined to rediscover the bubbly, independent, ambitious side she once had.

INNOVATIVE FORMAT IS KEY TO REACHING AND EDUCATING AFRICAN AMERICANS ABOUT PROSTATE CANCER

Nationwide --  The Prostate Health Education Network (PHEN) is currently debuting its Broadway-style stage play Daddy's Boys at national churches, venues and theaters around the country to packed houses and sell-out crowds. The show focuses on the often-overlooked prostate cancer crisis in the African American community, and collaborates with award wining playwright Garrett Davis, who uses humor and music-laden dramas to bring awareness to major health issues facing minorities.
"We know that African-American men are more than twice as likely than men of all other races to die from prostate cancer," said Thomas A. Farrington, founder and president, the Prostate Health Education Network. "This innovative format has shown strong appeal to men and women entertaining and educating audiences, enabling us to reach thousands with knowledge to help save more lives," according to Farrington, an 18-year prostate cancer survivor.

Daddy's Boys uses a highly entertaining infotainment approach to tell the story about a widowed father and his sons, who are in a fractured relationship, coming together when faced with prostate cancer. The play has been running for almost a year and in that time has received outstanding reviews and feedback from sold-out audiences in Atlanta, Georgia; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Glendale, Maryland; Richmond, Virginia; Detroit, Michigan; Greensboro, Fayetteville and Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Jacksonville, FL.

Houston, TX --  Isaac & Moore Luxury Fashion, is the brainchild of entrepreneur Isaac Moore. The up and coming Black American luxury designer, who went from homelessness to becoming a successful fashion designer, is well aware of the struggles a minority desiring to make it big in the industry faces. Moore's story starts with the abandonment of a drug addicted mother and a father who spent most of his life in prison. When other young men in his neighborhood were making the wrong choices, he was choosing to stay focused on his dream. He lived, ate and slept (often on park benches), to the tune of his anticipated future; it motivated him to stay alive even when it existing seemed impossible. He combats the "systematic" racism in the industry with pure professionalism and being excellent in everything he does.
