Chae's insightful mother, Ms. 
Dianna Blount, was able to identify a lot of promise in her son and obviously nurtured and encouraged his talent and ability to write.  Chae Blount, according to his mom, "started reading books when he was only 9 months old."

He was also in a spelling bee at three years of age.  Ms. Blount and educators at the time coordinating the spelling bee were surprised when he made it to the 4th round in the spelling bee competition (especially since he was competing against 5 and 6-year old children).

Dr. Olakunle Akinboboye, a prominent Southeast Queens, cardiologist, with a practice at 234-36 Merrick Blvd, Rosedale, NY 11422, is being given an important leadership position with the The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The brilliant cardiologist of Nigerian heritage, will become the Chair of its cardiovascular disease board.

This is the first time in the 81-year history of the board that a Nigerian has headed the 12 member board in charge of certifying and assessing cardiologists throughout the country. What is ironic about this appointment to Chair of the ABIM, is it comes at a time when the organization is being challenged by resentment with some physicians in the organization who feel it is being controlling and burdensome on members.

Film companies targeting African-American audiences are making a big name for themselves, and at the top of the list is CodeBlack Entertainment. It is the first independent, vertically integrated film studio owned by an African American entrepreneur, producing $750 million in home entertainment revenue.

Founded in 2005 by Jeff Clanagan, CodeBlack Entertainment produced straight-to-DVD films for years before they finally signed a major distribution deal with Lionsgate, for which they now produce feature theatrical films and television series.

He opened his very first Marco’s Pizza franchise in 2014, which makes fresh, authentic, handmade Italian pizza, and now he owns five Marco’s Pizza locations in Riverside County, California. Back in 2014, both Forbes and Time magazines confirmed that Oprah Winfrey, the popular talk show host and television mogul, is no longer the richest Black woman in the world. She had been unseated by an oil baroness named Folorunsho Alakija.

Folorunsho Alakija is a Nigerian billionaire oil tycoon, a fashion designer and a philanthropist. The 66-year old is reported to be worth at least $3.3 billion. She has real estate worth over $100 million and a $46 million private jet. All in all, she is worth about $300 million more than Oprah.
