We at the Southeast Queens Scoop, congratulate State Senator James Sanders Jr., the West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA), and the Rockaway Development Revitalization Corporation (RDRC) for collaborating and working towards the creation of the first ever Rockaway Caribbean Carnival!
The Caribbean community in Queens, like they do throughout New York, contributes a great deal to the life and the vitality of our neighborhoods and civic life. They bring to our communities a vibrant and energetic culture, in addition to striving spirit and hard work, that should be celebrated. We can't wait to see a celebration that rivals the legendary Caribbean Festival in our neighboring boro of Brooklyn. Below is the official press release and flyer of the event.
