376 Black Men Answered the Call — Southeast Queens Town Hall Returns for Part 2 Tonight

Jamaica, NY — June 2, 2026 — Following an overwhelming turnout of 376 Black men at the first State of the Black Man Address, community organizer James Johnson and Organizing Us LLC will host The State of the Black Man: Southeast Queens Town Hall – Part 2 tonight at the Robert Ross Johnson Family Life Center in Jamaica, Queens.

The town hall will bring together men from all walks of life for an honest conversation about public safety, mentorship, fatherhood, mental health, conflict resolution, and the future of Black communities in Southeast Queens.

Unlike traditional forums, this event is designed to move beyond discussion and focus on practical solutions.

A highlight of tonight’s program will be a live interactive skit demonstrating how men should safely and effectively approach a troubled youth in the neighborhood before a situation escalates into violence. The demonstration will show real-world intervention techniques, communication strategies, and the role everyday men can play in preventing conflict and guiding young people toward better decisions.

“People keep asking what the solution is,” said James Johnson, organizer of the town hall. “The solution is us. When men show up, build relationships, hold each other accountable, and engage our young people, we can change the direction of our community.”

Media will have the opportunity to:

  •     Observe a unique community-led conversation among Black men.
  •     Witness the live youth intervention skit.
  •     Interview organizers, participants, and community leaders.
  •     Capture visuals of hundreds of men gathered to discuss solutions for Southeast    Queens.
  •     Learn about the emerging RSR Initiative (Read the Situation. Prioritize Safety. React Before It’s Too Late), which encourages community members to safely intervene before conflicts become tragedies.
