The Ed Jackson Quartet Is Back In Action For "May We Motivate You With Jazz?!?"

"It was a real blast performing last month with the Ed Jackson Quartet, once again," reflects band leader and club owner Ed Jackson at the history making Jackson Room.  Jackson then asserts "we are working creatively on a future legacy of bringing uplifting jazz shared in our club and community to the whole world with cutting edge streaming video technology online."

The Jackson Room has been blessed and honored to have performances from iconic jazz greats such as Bobby Watson, George Cables, Willie Martinez, and Ty Stephens this year.  However, it will be a pleasure to see another performance again with the talented collaborators in the Ed Jackson Quartet.

There is something uniquely moving about the electric chemistry between the artists in the Ed Jackson Quartet.  Ed goes on to state "now that we are finally turning the corner on the pandemic, we are especially motivated to perform and endeavor to inspire you as well."

So Jackson is calling his next performance "May We Motivate You With Jazz?" Don't miss this enlivening event of jazz artistry: Saturday, May, 29th, 2021 8:30 EST and 5:30 pm PST.  You can Register Now

Today is the one year commemoration of the murder of George Floyd.  As many people in the world are aware George Floyd died at the hands or more accurately under the knees of Minneapolis police on May, 25th, 2020.

No doubt billions of people have seen the brutal horrific act of then police officer Derek Chauvin pressing his knee on George Floyd's neck for a reported 9 minutes and 29 seconds -- until he stopped breaking.

The traumatizing act of seeing George suffer an excruciating death under the knee of Derek Chauvin, and also the knees of other police officers pinning him to the ground - galvanized people all over the world to protest police brutality!  Derek Chauvin, despite a lot of police tactics to blame Floyd's death on his drug usage, enlarged heart because of hypertension, and even exhaust fumes was convicted in a highly charged nationally telecast court case.  But on the sobering anniversary of his death what is our best way to remember his death?
