Iconic Singer Jody Watley Becomes National Museum of African American Music First Ever Ambassador

March 3, 2021 - Jody Watley, the Grammy award winner trendsetting icon in music, video, fashion and style has been appointed to be National Museum of African American Music’s first ever membership ambassador for the museum.

Watley is one of the architects of 21st century pop. From her groundbreaking marriage of rap & R&B (1987’s “Friends,” a collaboration with hip-hop legends Eric B. & Rakim) to her vision-forward marriage of high fashion, street fashion and music in the ‘80s (long before it became the norm), to her fusion of jazz and underground club culture with keen pop instincts, and the ease with which she crossed and still crosses genre, she forged the template that is now everybody’s playbook.

“We are excited to name Jody Watley as our membership ambassador," Kara Duke, Development and Membership Manager at NMAAM said in a statement on March 1, 2021.  "Black Music finally has a home and with your support, we can make sure it will be here to inspire visitors for years to come," says Duke."

Located in downtown Nashville, the museum tells the story of America’s music and the people that made it. With artifacts from some of your favorite artists and interactive galleries, it is an unforgettable experience for music lovers of all ages.

Visitors can celebrate black music 365 days a year by purchasing a museum membership.

Legendary Hip Hop Icon Speech Reacts to Capital Insurrection in His New Single "A Different World"

“This song had to be made to become proactive in shaping our collective future, because the rebellion that happened on January 6, 2021 in Washington D.C. was the curtain being pulled back on race, lies and darkness in America,” Speech explains. “It’s obvious that about half of America is living in a fictitious bubble and are responding accordingly. That’s why I wanted to share facts about the lawlessness and hypocrisy that was occurring. We may be at the start of another Civil war and a lot of bloodshed.”

Atlanta, GA -- Like millions of other Americans, Grammy Award-winning artist Speech of the legendary Afro-centric Hip Hop group Arrested Development watched in horror as a swath of die-hard Trump loyalists stormed the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C. As the dedicated MC he is, Speech put the pen to paper and spit out the single “A Different World,” an anthemic call-to-action that both preserves his artistic integrity and passion for socio-political issues.

COUPLE LAUNCHES BLACK-OWNED 3D ANIMATION AGENCY TO FILL A MULTI-CULTURAL VOID IN THE CONTENT CREATOR WORLD

Meet Brian & Darnitra Jackson, a Black husband and wife team with over 20 years of combined experience in graphic design, marketing, photography, and 3D animation. Their company, Unimation Media, promised to shake things up and 6 months later, the receipts are in.

Previously, with even a passing glance, a person would notice these types of media graphics and ended up being disappointed because there was not a diverse choice of multi-cultural assets. Brian, who is the lead 3D animator at the firm, comments, "Things were always going to change when we launched the Scroll Stopping Dance Pack."

He continues, "Where you will likely always see our competitors doing the same old thing, we wanted to make a point to provide various multi-cultural media that will wow audiences and fill the void with no sacrifice in quality. We do this because we believe these realistic 3D animated assets will help various businesses make more money and engage new customers.

Diverse assets like these didn't exist until innovation drove progress into gear and our ideas became reality for various businesses and marketers, using these assets in their digital projects. Ultimately we knew it was going to be a tremendous benefit to our customers because it will save them time, money and help them closely represent, connect and engage with their audience."
