Queens Underground International holds its first ever Annual Costume Party and Film Festival.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Queens Underground International is featuring several Latino Filmmakers and Artists as it holds its first Annual Costume Party with the October Black & Brown Film Festival. The festival will take place on October 23, 2021 in downtown Southeast Queens, NY at The Jamaica Performing Arts Center, 153-10 Jamaica Avenue, Jamaica, NY 11432 from 7:00 pm to Midnight. Tickets are available for purchase now at https://www.queensunderground718.com or may be purchased slightly higher at the door. Proof of Vaccination is required by all public venues.

"We are ecstatic about this year's film festival.  With the Halloween Theme, Filmmakers and Attendees from all over in Costumes, this years Film Festival will be one to remember! Movie Shorts, Videos and Series Episodes from all genres, this Season the Horror Shorts will take center stage. Filmmakers have submitted from nine countries thus far and Submissions close on October 10th. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, this year’s festival features several Latino filmmakers." Article On The Queens Underground International holding Its 1st Ever Annual Costume Party & Film Festival Continues Below...

Highlighted films include the poetry video “Dreams,” by local Poet SavB1 and a music video, “Blackness is Everything,” produced by (her Name), and the Premier of “In Vein,” A Vampire Web Series produced by local Filmmaker Ray Loot. Other highlighted films include “Juaritos” by H.F. Crum, exploring drug cartels; a poetry video titled, “Latino with Soul” by Mutha Wildflower, and a movie short, “Dreamer” by Vergi Rodrigues, depicting a DACA recipient who was not welcomed by TSA Agents upon her return after a medical volunteer mission and an animated Horror Short, Malakout by Farnoosh Abedi. 

The Costumed Filmmakers Red Carpet will walk the Red Carpet, hosted by several local Talk Show and Radio Show Producers.  Prizes will awarded for Best Male & Female Costume –chosen by attendees.
