The BlackTechMatters Awards convened innovative leaders from across the nation that share one bold message, "Representation Matters." BK Simmons, who delivered The State of Black Tech Matters speech recounts: "We celebrated honorees who have demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity; opening doors for people of color to build products, get jobs, and generate wealth with technology. Collectively, the room represented some of the finest pioneers who are changing the diversity conversation from one of social impact to a focus on the economic impact that is redefining our communities and changing lives for generations to come."

At the show, guests enjoyed a red carpet tour and history lesson, delivered by Dr. Bernard Demczuk, Ph.D who has taught and studied African American culture for over a decade. Afterwards they were able to network and mingle to the sounds of DJ O's Cool, while enjoying the show. Entertainment for that night included performances from Kid Soul, Sage Salvo, Patrice Live, and Leonitis.

While the event overall received excellent media coverage on a local and international level, Wealthy Life also received great coverage on social media.

Angel Rich, named "the next Steve Jobs" by Forbes, comments, "We will continue to highlight areas of success within our community and opportunities for us to continue emerging in the tech and STEM industry. We look forward to an even greater awards show next year!"
