- Restrict the issuance and execution of all No Knock warrants and raids by limiting them only to instances when human life is in jeopardy.
- Increase the application requirements, requiring officers to report age/gender/known disabilities of all occupants.
- Ensures warrants expire after 7 days and prevents the use of stale information (officers have to provide current evidence in the 24 hrs. before warrant execution). Breonna Taylor's evidence/surveillance was 60 days old when officers went to execute the warrant.
- Add more specifics for how all warrants can be executed (i.e. officers required to be in uniform, must wait 30 seconds, and may not use flash bang grenades).
- Add measures of oversight and accountability by making audio/video and warrant execution reports available for review by independent oversight.
- “It’s hard to believe that anyone can argue that the public is well served by allowing armed officers to smash into a house out of the blue,” said State Senator Brian Benjamin. “How can this possibly be the safest way to arrest someone? We’ve seen hundreds like Breona Taylor killed or harmed because people decided that using these tactics was no big deal. We need to rein it in, and we need to do it now.”

Listen To The Queens RN Sandra Lindsay The 1st US COVID-19 Vaccine Recipient
This is a monumental day that offers us the biggest and brightest glimmer of hope that we've received since the beginning of this pandemic. Today, as I celebrate this news, I also reflect on the more than 300,000 Americans who we have lost to this awful disease since March.
The COVID-19 vaccine will be administered first to nursing home residents and health care workers, followed by long-term and congregate care staff and residents and EMS. Dr. Anthony Fauci indicated that the majority of low-risk individuals should expect vaccine availability in the early spring.
Get the facts on the COVID-19 vaccine here.

Senator James Sanders Jr.'s Statement on the Passing of Former NYC Mayor David Dinkins
![]() |
| Senator James Sanders jr. |
David Dinkins served in the Marine Corps from July 1945 through August 1946, attaining the rank of private first class. As a Marine Corps veteran myself, I can tell you that Marines lead from the front and that's what David Dinkins did. He increased affordable housing to reduce homelessness, tackled the HIV/AIDS epidemic and decreased crime by creating the "Safe Streets, Safe City" program.
David Dinkins accomplished so many great things during his long and illustrious life that it would take many pages to name them all. He saw the city as a "beautiful mosaic," and I think that it something we all strive to celebrate and preserve. He was a role model and inspiration to many and he will be greatly missed.

Discover How Rayki Tai Turned Debilitating Illness into Groundbreaking Natural Hair Care Brand
Nationwide -- Wholesome Hair Co, founded by Jamaican/Nigerian entrepreneur Rayki Tai, emerged onto the natural hair care scene with a vegan product line in February 2020. Customer feedback prompted Rayki Tai to address what sets Wholesome Hair Co. apart from others in the natural hair industry. Her story is profound.
In the 1980s, Rayki went from a haunting conversation about hair with her mother right before she died, to living in a Nigerian boarding school struggling to manage her own hair. Rayki’s subpar hair grooming violated school standards, and one day Rayki was berated in front of the entire student body by the vice principal, who decided to shave Rayki’s head bald. As an unwilling twelve year old, Rayki creatively negotiated a deal with the vice principal to let her keep her hair.
After returning to the United States years later, Rayki had an unfortunate incident with a lighter that left her near bald. Desperate for a way to regrow her hair quickly, Rayki tried many products with big claims of fast hair growth. However, the growth was gradual.
