NYS Senator James Sanders Jumpstarts
Southeast Queens Wealth Building Program

Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village, Far Rockaway) kicked off a new, free, groundbreaking home and business ownership program with a celebration on March 8, 2018 at the Jamaica of Commerce.

"Who is ready to own a home?" Sanders asked the crowd, who responded with much applause. "Langston Hughes once said that America should be America for everyone. There is so much wealth and progress all around us, but for a long time our plate has been empty. Let's do something about that."

The event marked the grand opening of the Madam C.J. Walker Institute. This program begins with a mandatory 4-week financial boot camp which teaches participants how to repair / build their credit and how to design a personally tailored budget. The second part of the program will partner candidates with banks that have various down payment assistant options and move residents closer to their ownership goals.

Author Teaches How To Work With Women
In The Era Of The #MeToo Movement

Nationwide -- While the conversation surrounding the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment and abuse in the workplace escalates from whispered water cooler talk to a raucous shout, men are becoming fearful of working alongside women in the workplace. This trepidation translates into workplace tension that reduces productivity for businesses as men lose their focus around women.

"I can't have conversations with women, can't touch them, can't open doors for them and have to fear them because they can ruin my career or my life any time they want. I don't know what to do. It leaves me depressed," wrote Stephen L., an Executive at Government Office.

"This undeniable shift in gender power may be irreversible, but there is no glory for women who reign in power gained by fear," explained Te-Erika Patterson, the creator of The New Rules for Engaging Women at Work. "When men fear women we cannot collaborate in business and experience growth that demonstrates our true potential. We have to work on easing the tension in the workplace so that women feel safe at work and men are relieved of their fears of women.

Atlanta, GA  -- Erica L. James, the newcomer with an old-school sound, is thrilled to announce the release of her debut album, "Always In Love". After an eleven-year hiatus from music, Erica proclaims that she is back to "create a space where love is safe." Her music is a reflection of her journey to finding peace, coupled with soothing melodies and catchy lyrics.

Her return has given some a renewed appreciation for "feel good" music. The12Block.com wrote, "The album is an outflowing and mobilizing collection of hip-hop soul numbers with standout moments like the tragic but reassuring 'Looking For Love,' an effervescent declaration of self-love and self-worth called 'Unconditional,' some slow scorching acoustic soul called ‘Ju Ju,’ and a more upfront and uplifting hip hop joint called 'Nu Nu Woke.'"
