The Collaborative Experience, Inc., Open Call for African-American Men to Pen Their Stories a new in Book Anthology

New York, NY –  The Collaborative Experience is currently compiling a collection stories by African American male authors entitled, “Our Stories Our Voices: Black Men Speak Their Truth” (OSOV), which is set to debut in February 2020 for Black History Month.

The book is going to be a treasure chest of life-changing stories written by African- American men who are driven to change the narrative of black males in America. Readers can expect to be uplifted and encouraged by stories of faith, hope and answered prayers, as contributors share how they overcame their tragedies and turned them into triumphs.

“It’s time that we hear from our brothers who are doing positive things in the community and making a positive impact in the lives of others. This will be a welcomed new collection of history about black men,” says Toni Coleman Brown, Vice President of the Collaborative Experience. Contributors to this anthology represent black men from all walks of life. They vary in age, cultural backgrounds and reside in cities across the United States. The co-authors are penning experiences about life, fatherhood, friendships, relationships, business and social issues as well as negative perceptions that they’ve had to face in order to survive in today’s society. Readers will be able to relate to the stories shared in the anthology and will understand that they’re not alone in their life challenges.

There is undoubtedly a generational gap between the past generation (our parents or Silent generation) and the next generation (our kids or millennials) with us (baby boomers) – my peers and I – representing the bridge gap. The gap represent something of a grey area between when the baby Boomer generation created the internet and when the millennials created SixDegrees.com, which is said to be the first ever social media website.

The bridge gap - defined as a difference or disparity in attitudes, perceptions, character, or development, - is indispensable given the last generation custom to being hands on, face to face, along with human embrace. In contrast the next generation is accustomed to being hands off, on FaceTime or Facebook, and embracing virtual acceptance.

As we acknowledge the empirical evidence involving generational differences the onerous falls on us to balance our children – millennials - barometer for human relations. 

Human relations begins with family and our parents were the gold standard - in most cases - of backbone and character; in the black community things were hard, scarce, and in many cases difficult.

NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR LAUNCHES INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR ASPIRING HEALTHCARE ENTREPRENEURS

Dr. Sue "Neesy" Croft, founder of a holistic health care clinic in Central Texas, will be launching the first-ever International Healthcare Entrepreneurs Day to be celebrated during the second Saturday of October.

Killeen, TX -- It's not often that the healthcare industry acknowledges entrepreneurism. The business of healthcare usually only mentions the doctors, insurance companies and hospitals, which is why International Association Healthcare Entrepreneurs Founder/CEO Sue "Neesy" Croft ND RN.FNP-Retired, MBA/MHA has decided to launch an organization that promotes healthcare entrepreneurism.

FOUNDER OF BLACK-OWNED CULTURAL CENTER/ BOOK STORE IN ATLANTA TO LAUNCH FREE FESTIVAL

Atlanta, GA --  Kazemde Ajamu has always had his eye - and heart - on bringing Black culture and history to the forefront, especially among the younger generation. It's not just in his nature, but part of his mission at the Black Dot Cultural Center and Bookstore.

On Saturday, Sept. 28, Ajamu will take his passion for cultural immersion to the next level with the first-ever Black Dot Culture and Art Festival at 6984 Main Street, Lithonia, Georgia. From 12-8 pm, the one-of-a-kind event will feature food, fun and performances by Akosua Tait, Giwayen Mata, RareEpiphany and special guest Michon Young.

"For me, it's so important that we come together and really get to experience all of the different forms and aspects of our culture first-hand. We're tapping into all of your senses for a day filled with celebrating Black culture," said Ajamu, the festival host and owner of Black Dot Cultural Center and Bookstore.
