More Than Training — A Direct Pipeline to Opportunity

What makes SEQBI particularly powerful is its direct connection to major economic ecosystems. The program is specifically designed to create a pipeline of small businesses into the Resorts World NYC and JFK Airport Expansion ecosystems.

At the end of each 10-week session, participants gain the chance to compete in a multi-tiered pitch competition, with awards of $5,000, $4,000, and $3,000 — real capital to fuel growth.

Even more importantly, by the conclusion of the program:

Participants are registered to do business with Resorts World NYC

And are in the process of securing MWBE certifications, opening doors to state, city, and local procurement opportunities

In other words, SEQBI doesn’t just teach theory — it actively plugs Southeast Queens entrepreneurs into revenue-generating systems.

Who Should Apply?

The SEQBI program is specifically tailored for entrepreneurs who are already in motion and ready to scale.

Eligible applicants must:

Have a legally registered business for 2 or more years

Be actively looking to scale and do business in Southeast Queens

To qualify, applicants must complete the registration form and attend an information session.

Powered by Strategic Partners

SEQBI is powered by a strong coalition of partners including:

Resorts World New York City

America’s SBDC New York

York College

Modern Community Capital

These partnerships reflect a rare and powerful alignment between corporate procurement, public institutions, and community-centered capital — exactly the kind of ecosystem Southeast Queens needs to close the Black business capital gap.

RDRC: Building Far Rockaway’s Economic Future

Founded to restore, revitalize, and empower the Rockaway Peninsula, the Rockaway Development & Revitalization Corporation (RDRC) has long served as a cornerstone of economic development in Southeast Queens.

Under the leadership of Kevin W. Alexander, MPA, President & CEO, RDRC has become a nationally respected model for community-driven redevelopment, workforce development, and small business support — ensuring that Far Rockaway residents and entrepreneurs are not left behind as development accelerates across Queens.

From affordable housing to business incubation and workforce pipelines, RDRC has consistently positioned Far Rockaway as not just surviving — but building ownership, equity, and generational opportunity.

Why This Matters for Southeast Queens

In a borough where Black-owned businesses receive a fraction of traditional investment capital, programs like SEQBI represent more than entrepreneurship — they represent economic justice in action.

This incubator places Southeast Queens entrepreneurs at the center of some of the largest development corridors in NYC, ensuring that Black and minority-owned businesses are not merely spectators in the city’s growth — but stakeholders and beneficiaries.

Author Max Miller Releases
New Self-Help Book
“Blame It on the Feel of Pain”
About Detangling From Past Pain

Get ready for a transformational journey toward inner peace as indie author Max W. Miller’s new self-help release, Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, inspires readers in a witty, down-to-earth book. Truth and compassion are foretold, using poetic frames called ‘The Wises,’ and the help of opinionated little emojis bringing laughter and thought-provoking conclusions throughout.

The author encourages her readers, whom she also calls partners, to stop wrestling with the hard knocks of the past. She expresses how voluntarily walking back into time precedes trauma healing. Confronting lingering pains is a step toward strength and hope for the future. ‘Blame It’ delves into the author’s life experiences, bringing to life the importance of using Full Circle Moments to find resolutions.

Throughout Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, the reader grows to understand through a unique interpretation that what we are destined to become grows out of the years we’ve already traveled. Further, our future hinges on how we address the pains of the past. Other expressions focus on how desires in the present are carved out of having a clear vision that old, lingering strongholds must be defeated. A history of suffering is a prerequisite for becoming fed up enough to demand enjoyment now!
