The Five Pillars: A Roadmap for New Members
Prospective members are invited to align their skills with the organization’s strategic focus areas:
Mentoring: The cornerstone of the 100. Members serve as the "blueprint," providing disciplined, consistent guidance to youth to ensure that "What They See Is What They Will Be."
Education: New members will lead initiatives that close the achievement gap, promote literacy, and provide pathways to higher education and emerging vocational careers.
Health & Wellness: With a focus on mental health and systemic health disparities, the 100 seeks members to lead advocacy and awareness programs that promote longevity and vitality within the Black community.
Economic Empowerment: The 100 is calling on business leaders and financial experts to help build community wealth through entrepreneurship training, financial literacy, and investment education.
Leadership: This fifth pillar focuses on developing the members themselves. The 100BMENY serves as a high-caliber nexus where professional Black men sharpen their own leadership skills while modeling excellence for the world to see. This pillar also requires us to develop the next generation of leaders.
A High-Caliber Network of Excellence
Membership in the 100 Black Men of Eastern New York offers a unique dual value: the opportunity to change the life of a young person and the opportunity to join a powerful network of like-minded Black professionals.
"The '100' is where the region's most influential Black men meet to solve problems," continued Phil Andrews. "By joining, you are gaining a brotherhood of peers who are as committed to your professional growth as they are to the community's progress."

New Self-Help Book
“Blame It on the Feel of Pain”
About Detangling From Past Pain
Get ready for a transformational journey toward inner peace as indie author Max W. Miller’s new self-help release, Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, inspires readers in a witty, down-to-earth book. Truth and compassion are foretold, using poetic frames called ‘The Wises,’ and the help of opinionated little emojis bringing laughter and thought-provoking conclusions throughout.
The author encourages her readers, whom she also calls partners, to stop wrestling with the hard knocks of the past. She expresses how voluntarily walking back into time precedes trauma healing. Confronting lingering pains is a step toward strength and hope for the future. ‘Blame It’ delves into the author’s life experiences, bringing to life the importance of using Full Circle Moments to find resolutions.
Throughout Blame It On The Feel Of Pain, the reader grows to understand through a unique interpretation that what we are destined to become grows out of the years we’ve already traveled. Further, our future hinges on how we address the pains of the past. Other expressions focus on how desires in the present are carved out of having a clear vision that old, lingering strongholds must be defeated. A history of suffering is a prerequisite for becoming fed up enough to demand enjoyment now!
