The red carpet fashion show provided by Jontue Boutique and D’Jeannette Boutique, proved that stylish contemporary, vintage and formal wear is available for both men and women in Downtown Far Rockaway.
Local elected officials, City Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers encouraged attendees to spend their hard-earned cash with the local merchants of the Downtown Business District, on Central and Mott Avenues, Beach 19th, 20th and 21st Streets as well as Cornaga and New Haven Avenues and Seagirt Boulevard, and State Senator James P. Sanders, Jr. provided comedic relief and back-to-school supplies.
Nancy Martinez, Vice-President of REMA 4 US, and Board Chairman, Allan Bucknol, both passionately explained the BID process. The Bid process will bring the critical capital financing of over $1.5 million dollars annually for the services of sanitation, security, beautification and business promotion for the Downtown Far Rockaway Business District.
