While there are brilliant persons on the Autism Spectrum celebrated today, very little media stories focus on people, especially women of color. Our co-publisher's new bio-pic "nZinga's Spectrum In 3D," is a moving and inspirational documentary on how a young Black woman RISES to overcome her challenges.

nZinga Austin is also the Co-publisher of Our Black News Scoop and Southeast Queens Scoop.  The documentary of about 1/2 hr long is getting rave reviews.

The “Original Rude Bwoy”, Dahved Levy, from WBLS, 107.5 FM, the first person to host a Caribbean themed show on national radio, began the event with his trademark catch-phrase “Dahved Levy, rockin’ you!, Rockin’ You !” Johnny’s Classic Quizine, home to some of the best Jamaican food in Far Rockaway, provided the crowd with savory sustenance for the event.

The red carpet fashion show provided by Jontue Boutique and D’Jeannette Boutique, proved that stylish contemporary, vintage and formal wear is available for both men and women in Downtown Far Rockaway.

Local elected officials, City Councilwoman Selvena Brooks-Powers encouraged attendees to spend their hard-earned cash with the local merchants of the Downtown Business District, on Central and Mott Avenues, Beach 19th, 20th and 21st Streets as well as Cornaga and New Haven Avenues and Seagirt Boulevard, and State Senator James P. Sanders, Jr. provided comedic relief and back-to-school supplies.

Nancy Martinez, Vice-President of REMA 4 US, and Board Chairman, Allan Bucknol, both passionately explained the BID process. The Bid process will bring the critical capital financing of over $1.5 million dollars annually for the services of sanitation, security, beautification and business promotion for the Downtown Far Rockaway Business District. They also encouraged all attendees to sign the forms at the REMA 4 US tent.

The “Love Man” WBLS’s Lenny Green of “Quiet Storm,” provided the relaxed and romantic atmosphere required to end the afternoon event.
