TITO JACKSON STEPS OUT ON VOCALS WITH NEW SINGLE "ONE WAY STREET"

Los Angeles, CA -- Legendary guitarist, Tito Jackson, considered the quieter member of perhaps the greatest musical family in the history of music - The Jacksons, has stepped out on vocals with the release of his new single "One Way Street."

In just one week, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer's cut was the second most added song at radio stations across the country.

Veteran Emery Perry To Honored Into The NYS Senate Hall Of Fame By Senator Leroy Comrie

Emery A. Perry was born in Hartford, Connecticut, and moved to the Bronx at age six. In 1961, he enlisted in the United States Army and was assigned to the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. After serving two years active duty and two years standby, he received an honorable discharge with a rank of Private First Class.

After receiving his high school diploma from Theodore Roosevelt Evening High School, Private First Class Emory entered the New York City Police Department in 1969, was assigned to the 79th Precinct, and retired in 1989 from the Crime Prevention Division. In 1975, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Massachusetts, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Senator James Sanders Jr. Condemns Mass Shootings, Trump’s Racist Rhetoric And Lax Gun Policies

State Senator James Sanders Jr. (D-Rochdale Village, Far Rockaway) today condemned the mass shootings in Texas and Ohio that occurred over the weekend, and cited concerns that President Trump’s racist rhetoric against minorities and people of color may have been responsible for spurring at least one of the two incidents.
 
“President Trump has divided this nation. His hateful messages against immigrants, minorities, women and any group that is not white men, is disturbing. It has caused the spread of white nationalism and set race relations in our country back several decades. That combined with his lax views on gun control have led us to this moment.”
 
The alleged gunman in the shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, who killed 20 people and injured a dozen more, Patrick Crusius, 21, described his racist motive for the crime in a manifesto in which he stated, “this attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas.” Many Mexican people reportedly cross the border to go to that Walmart to do their shopping before returning to their country. The alleged gunman also stated in the manifesto that his views “predate Trump.” However, they were probably exacerbated by Trump’s words, Sanders contends.

Debut of “The Ave” by ArtSite Awardee and Local Jamaica Artist, Jason Anthony Lalor In Southeast Queens

Jamaica Queens, NYC --- Walking down 149th Street or Jamaica Avenue after sunset, you will now stumble upon an eye catching new film installation highlighting the energetic Jamaica landscape.

ArtSite awardee and local artist, Jason Anthony Lalor’s new video installation is now on view every night from 8:30 pm to midnight for the month of August. In order to complete his vision, Jason partnered with local businesses CH Martin & Rincon Salvadoreno Restaurant to debut his film “The Ave” which aims to document and preserve the diversity and energy of Jamaica, while encouraging passersby to connect these spaces to their own memories and experiences.

 As a local Jamaica resident, Jason wanted to focus on his home and create a film for his fellow community members. His project is an observational documentary of Jamaica, both of the Avenue and the neighborhood, showcasing his daily commutes through the area. His idea was inspired by the rapid gentrification of the neighborhood and the importance of creating visual records of Jamaica’s changing landscape.

“I want people to stop, ask about the work, maybe share their memories of Jamaica and discuss how the neighborhood is changing. I also want people to walk away with a sense of the inherent beauty and impermanence of our neighborhood as we know it. At the very least, I hope people enjoy the views of the Avenue.” – Jason Anthony Lalor
