Nationwide (BlackNews.com) -- Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, has given away billions of dollars in scholarship money.


But if you haven't noticed already, since 2016, the Gates Millennium Scholars Program for minority students has been discontinued. For years, the program awarded scholarships to African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students who were enrolled in a 2 or 4 year college program.

Washington, DC - Local DC Public School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is calling for the removal of Slaver’s name from Benjamin G. Orr Elementary School.

The former Chief of Schools for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) said NO to removing the Slave Owner’s name. He alluded that school leadership should wait another year and that the Chancellor of DC Schools has more important thing to do.

Nationwide - The Malcolm X Scholarship for "Exceptional Courage" is directed towards undergraduate students, who are enrolled at one of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) institutions.

The scholarship was developed by award-winning filmmaker Spike Lee to increase the awareness about the life and contributions of Malcolm X within society.

Las Vegas, NV -- Miami-based singer/ songwriter/ actor/ producer Barachi sparked electricity and excitement with two recent live performances in Las Vegas.

The singer unleashed his unique brand of sexy R&B/Pop last weekend in front of nearly 3,000 revelers with live performances at Vegas hot spots Jewel Nightclub and Liquid at ARIA Resort & Casino. Barachi performed the romantic grooves "Tell Me" and "U Got Me" from Therapy, his upcoming Visual Album, Film, and Soundtrack on GMUSIC ("SonyRED"), powered by The Orchard, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.

 First, Barachi set it off Friday night (Sept. 8) at Jewel Nightclub, a 24,000-square-foot nightlife center featuring more than 50 VIP tables, with approximately 1,900 people on site. At his Saturday (Sept. 9) appearance at Liquid Pool Lounge, a 6,000-square-foot outdoor venue, Barachi serenaded some 850 new fans from the state-of-the-art DJ booth. Afterward, clubgoers lined up to get autographs and photos with the artist. With hosted security from The Mayweather Team ("TMT") and Floyd Mayweather's private bodyguard, Mr. Adam Plant, the parties were turned up and tasteful – just like Barachi himself.
