On the border of St. Albans and Hollis Queens is a nice hangout spot giving local residents the option to drink healthy drinks with empowering and enlivening ingredients.  The name of the new cozy spot is Habits Nurturing Youthfulness.  But is its rise a reflection of evolving neighborhood food choices.

All throughout Southeast Queens, we're seeing major supermarkets carrying healthier food choices.  This is a good sign to see people in the community seeking and purchasing healthier food choices including non-GMO foods, natural and organic foods, and meats and poultry without steroid usage.

We are seeing increasing more food options in the area reflecting a change in food choices of local residents.  Most large supermarkets and product stores in our area like Farmbria, C-Town, and Stop and Shop, to name just a small number, now have sections devoted to a considerable amount of stocking more wholesome foods.

Another pleasant indication that our community is moving in a healthier food choice direction is a new juice bar opening up on the border of Hollis and St. Albans, called the Habits Nurturing Youthfulness, juice bar.  The Juice bar has a plethora of healthy ingredients that they use to mix powerfully healthy tonics to deliver potent natural ingredients to customers.

Natural juices are lauded by health enthusiasts as a great way to get enlivening raw nutrients to people - usually lost in processed and homogenized drink beverages.  Habits Nurturing Youthfulness, juice bar is no doubt looking to capitalize on this invigorating trend.

The Habits Nurturing Youthfulness, juice bar has a nice cozy atmosphere with a couple of flat screen TVs to see your latest "Love and Hip Hop," episodes while you drink your juice. It  also is equipped with a pool table so you can show your competitors who really has the juice when playing pool.  It has quite a number of potent natural ingredients to add to juice smoothies like kale, spinach, almonds, peanuts, romaine lettuce, and fruits like green apples, pears, strawberries and bananas.

If you love nutritious juices, elixirs, and smoothies this is definitely the place to go in the Hollis and St. Albans area.  If you aren't allergic to nuts I found their drink called QGTM, very empowering.  It is loaded with proteins and nutrients from kale, sea moss, peanuts, oats, banana, cinnamon, nutmeg, soymilk, and honey.  I found it to be a very delicious drink which held me for hours.  I wasn't hungry for a while and again it tasted great.

I also tasted the drink "Turn Down For What?"  This drink included kale, parsley, romaine lettuce, cucumber, celery, and pears.  The mixologists at this practical but trendy juice bar certainly know how to mix healthy drinks that also taste great.

According to people working in the establishment, different drinks are mixed to have various purposes like giving you energy, meal replacements, and optimal health beverages.  They also have the classic wheat grass shots and drinks without nuts.  Craig, a spokesman for the juice bar told us they will also be carrying some wholesome foods in the future.

People shouldn't sleep on the residents in Hollis and St. Albans.  These communities have a great legacy in the hip hop and jazz musical traditions.  And now local residents also have "the juice" in healthy nutrition options as well at Habits Nurturing Youthfulness.  Habits Nurturing Youthfulness, is located at: 109-16 Farmers Blvd, St. Albans, NY 11412.  Their phone number is 347-210-5504.
