United States Black Chambers, Inc. names New York States Largest Black Chamber LIAACC Spoke of the Month August 2022

New York, New York - United States Black Chambers, Inc. names New York States largest black chamber LIAACC Spoke of the Month August 2022. 

The USBC Community Economic Development Corporation (USBC CEDC), providing services to the U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. and Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. was awarded $5 million from the U.S. Small Business Administration's (SBA) Community Navigator Pilot Program.

The grant, awarded to 51 applicants nationally, is part of a $100 million initiative to help reduce the barriers that underrepresented and underserved entrepreneurs face in accessing the programs and services that they need.

The SBA's Community Navigator Pilot Program was created to ensure that small and micro-businesses receive support and access to federal relief programs in response to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic that can help them recover, grow, and thrive.

The grant is structured as a "Hub and Spoke" model to utilize networks and community advocates to assist historically underserved small businesses and entrepreneurs to better connect to the critical resources needed to launch, pivot, and recover from the impacts of the pandemic.

In 2019 our chamber was named the New York District Office of the United States Small Business Administration 2019 Small Business for 14 counties in Downstate, New York. 

In 2019, 2020, and 2021 our chamber's leadership was named to City and State Magazine's list of 100 Top Powerful leaders list on Long Island. 

In 2021 the chamber's President was named on list as one of the top Powerful Long Islanders in a special publication published by Long Island News. 

In April of 2021 the African American Small Business Foundation, Inc. was formed to support the programs and activities of the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc.  The foundation is a 501(c) 3 tax-exempt Not-for-Profit organization. 

In November of 2021 Long Island Business News inducted Phil Andrews, President of LIAACC as an inductee into Long Island Business News as one of the class of 2021 Hall of Fame Inductees which was culminated with the permanent of a plaque on the wall at Hofstra University Zarb School of Business. 

In 2022 our chamber partnered with Alvin Hartley, President and Managing Partner of TMI and its entire team to create, manage, and run the Chamber's Business Solution Center. 

The United States Black Chambers, Inc. is comprised of over 145 chambers across the United States; and is affectionately known as the "National Business Voice of Black America." 

LI African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc., a participating organization in the Community Navigator Pilot Program, is funded in part through United States Black Chamber's grant with the U.S. Small Business Administration. 

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) helps Americans start, build, and grow businesses. 

LIAACC is a member of the US Black Chambers, Inc. located online at US Black Chambers, Inc. 

The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce has appeared on WABC Here and Now, NBC Positively Black, Push Pause FiOs1, and MYLITV just to name a few. As chambers raise the level of their profiles  as representatives for small business owners, and serve as advocates of greater success in the business community they will also have a profound impact on the profitability, and growth of its membership base and wider network.
