The Cookout - features an all black photography speaker line up and hopes to fill a void in the photography industry by providing photographers of color an opportunity to network, grow professionally, and take their photography and business skills up a notch.

The conference begins with an outdoor "Cookout" on Sunday in the park, followed by two full days of hands on photography, business, and marketing courses. Conference attendees will be able to apply what they’ve learned during the day during the afternoon "styled shoots" with lead instructors. In addition, photography vendors will display and demonstrate photography techniques for editing, tools for showcasing their client work, and developing a standout website during the conference on-site expo.

Colvin comments, "Opportunities for minority speakers to speak at large conferences and black photographers to network don’t come every day." She hopes to give speakers of color an opportunity to teach and empower their community.

The Cookout's instructors include industry leaders such as Jide Alajika, Kesha Lambert, Reg and Kahran Bethencourt, Leslie Kershaw, Lyndsey Weatherspoon and Tim Riddick, just to name a few.
