Students With Medical Or Health Aspirations Take A Trip To The Minority Student Medical Career

Education Activists Vanessa Sparks, William McDonald and Stacey Payton are sponsoring a trip to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) “Minority Student Career Fair” on Saturday, November 4, 2017 in Boston, MA. This event is open to high school and college students interested in pursuing careers in medicine and the health professions.

The conference focuses on the medical profession, strategies on college/medical school admission, participation in medical and health-care discussions and activities, and receives information on medical programs for high school/college. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to meet and network with deans, administrators and students from medical schools and health professional schools from around the country.


The cost of the trip (includes: bus breakfast, round-trip transportation, conference and dinner) is $90.00 per student, and $60.00 for each accompanying parent/guardian.
This is a one-day trip, open to current high school juniors and seniors (11th and 12th grade) and college freshman/sophomores with an interest in the medical/health profession and has successfully completed the following:

For high school juniors and seniors:
1) 2-3 years of high school science (including Living Environment and/or Biology), passing grade in coursework and Regent examination.

2) 2-3 years of high school mathematics (Algebra and Geometry and/or Algebra II/Trigonometry), passing grade in coursework and Regent examination.

For college students:

1) Current enrolled college freshman and sophomores (attending a two or four-year college/university)
